The Grand Rapids Chinese Language School (GRCLS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving West Michigan since 1991. GRCLS will host our Annual Chinese Culture Celebration from 5:00-8:30 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the East Kentwood Theatre. The Honorable Lupe Ramos-Montigny, Michigan State Board of Education, will be our keynote speaker. Shirley Johnson, Associate Superintendent of Kentwood Public Schools, will be our guest speaker. Our students and teachers will share Chinese culture and tradition with the audience through Chinese traditional music, dance and songs. Our annual fundraising event proceeds will help the school with teachers training and professional development, classroom supplies and technology, and program promotion.
The mission of the school is to provide our communities the opportunity to expand both educationally and culturally and better prepare our talents to compete in a global economy. GRCLS offers Chinese classes on Saturdays at the GVSU downtown campus for all students from Pre-School age to Adult.
