With the growing population of Asians in Michigan, the West Michigan Asian American Association of Grand Rapids is coordinating a meeting with the leaders and advocates of the Asian communities in West Michigan to learn about important resources of interest to them.
In 2013, the Asian and Pacific Islander Vote of Michigan conducted a survey with Asian communities in West Michigan covering education, civic engagement and health. The results of this survey will be shared at this gathering. This information will help Asian leaders and community advocates to learn about the responses from those who completed the survey by members of Asian communities in West Michigan. The information may be important to your work in focusing on the needs of our communities.
In addition, a representative from Governor Snyder's Michigan Commission of Asian Pacific American Affairs will make a presentation their mission and golas and connecting with West Michigan Asian communities.
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO INVITE BOARD MEMBERS OF YOUR ORGANIZATIONS, LEADERS OF YOUR ASIAN COMMUNITY AND COMMUNITY ADVOCATES TO THIS MEETING.
